Hat Rock Inn

You will love the beautifully appointed Hat Rock Inn, both inside and out.  This beautiful lodging facility is situated on the edge of a cliff overlooking the San Juan River, just minutes away from Monument Valley.  A easy stroll along a cliff side trail will lead you to a private undeveloped beach area along the rivers shoreline, where you can relax and enjoy the sun and sand and cool refreshing waters of the San Juan River.  You may also take a short drive to a larger open public beach along the river.

The San Juan is ideal for swimming, floating, rafting or just relaxing alongside.  Because this area is not a part of the Navajo reservation, there are no restrictions on where you can hike, bike or horseback ride, also alcohol consumption is not prohibited within this area.

The Hat Rock Inn is located in a popular area for off-roading as well.  There is a vast network of 4-wheeling trails in the vicinity, and Jeep rentals are available as well.

The location of the Hat Rock Inn makes for a very quiet and peaceful setting. There are beautiful views from every room in the hotel and several types of southwest wildlife frequent the area including hummingbirds, lizards, the occasional Bull Snake, and other friendly dessert animals.  You will not have to worry about the unsavory critters however like rattle snakes, gnats or mosquitoes, as they are seldom seen in the area.

Spring temperatures range from Low 50's to 80's while summer temperatures reach 110. Great hieroglyphs can be found on the Hat Rock Inn property. The trail is not yet complete, so this is considered a moderate hike at this time.
