Thunderbird Lodge

This family-oriented lodge is situated at the south rim of the Grand Canyon. The Thunderbird Lodge is conveniently located between El Tovar and Bright Angel Lodge in the heart of the Grand Canyon Historic District. Thunderbird Lodge offers a contemporary style with architecture that blends in with it’s rocky and majestic surroundings. Many of the rooms include a partial canyon view making this a perfect place to stay. There's no air-conditioning, but evaporative coolers keep the heat at bay.

Rooms here include either two queen beds or one king bed, television, telephone, in-room coffee, refrigerator, safe, and full bath. In keeping with national park lodging regulations all rooms are non-smoking. Guests staying at the Thunderbird Lodge check in at the Bright Angel Lodge front desk.

This two-mile paved trail, designed to accommodate both pedestrians and bicyclists, parallels the main park road.
